I am happy to be part of the Natural Educators team since early 2019. Whilst travelling and visiting friends in Boise in 2015, my husband and I fell in love with the city and lifestyle that Idaho offers. We have since moved to Boise and have been living here for the past 2 years. The vision of Natural Educators to provide unique and meaningful learning opportunities runs deep for me. I love teaching Art classes as part of this vision and seeing students engage with, explore and develop their creative interests.
After studying Visual Art and Art History at university, I went on to complete my postgraduate studies in Education, specializing in Visual Art teaching. I have been working in education for the last 7 years with experience ranging from working with senior high school students, elementary students, preschoolers and adults. I taught Studio Arts and Visual Communication and Design at a high school in Melbourne, Australia before moving on to position teaching Art in a Reggio Emilia Preschool and kindergarten. For the past 2 years I was part of establishing a new private Elementary School in Meridian. This opportunity to work in a non-traditional model school gave me great insight into the deep creativity of children and the importance for them to have the space and freedom to explore and express themselves. Several international volunteer position have also given me the opportunity to work in Art curriculum development and art therapy and once again taught me the universally powerful nature of Art. If you have any specific questions about our Art programs feel free to email me at kara.naturaleducators@gmail.com or call (208) 353 8355. |
